北京薄氏腹针研究院是集教学、科研、临床为一体，是全国从事腹针教学培训，拥有自主知识产权的机构。有一支具有职称组成的师资队伍和临床进修实习基地。2002年起连续6年为中医药继续教育项目向全国推广；2001年列为中医药管理局“中医临床诊疗技术整理与研究项目” 2005年列为中医药科技成果推广项目；出版有《腹针疗法》、《腹针无痛治百病》和《腹针挂图》、教学VCD、腹针专用针具；中国针灸学会成立了腹针专业委员会、意大利成立了腹针医学会、韩国成立了韩国薄氏腹针医学研究院、 在广东省中医院建立腹针研究所。
